GALLERY SU: is pleased to announce ‘Roses are red, violets are blue.’, a group exhibition of 23 works by the gallery’s artists centered on the color red and blue.

Red is the color associated with various tonalities such as heat, activity, passion, sexuality, anger, love and joy. Tom Wesselman features flat figures in an intense palette of red, blue, and other patriotic colors, while Kim’s beautiful, delicate paintings with blue is too varied to say just “blue.” In Jung Yeondoo’s photographic work, fantasy coexists with the real world, and the gallery presents a work from ‘Tokyo Brand City’ with a focus on blue contrasted with another work with a focus on red. Wang Guangyi adopts the color red to explore capitalist iconography, and Sea Hyun Lee’s ‘Between the Red’ employs the deeply symbolic color of red to paint his memories of his time serving for military in Korea.

Following ‘Roses are red, violets are blue’, the gallery will launch a series of exhibitions to interpret various colors in a myriad of media.
